Springs of Hope

A Special Bond

Since the founding of RROP, we have encountered many dedicated Kenyans working hard to alleviate the overwhelming crush of orphaned children. However, a very special bond has formed with just one: the Springs of Hope Center in Machakos. This abandoned baby rescue center was founded and is run by Mary Musyoka.

Rescued Children

The babies at Springs of Hope have been fighting against the odds since birth. Each baby has had to endure some horrible hardship, such as being tossed on a garbage heap after surviving a failed abortion attempt, being left in a paper bag at a bus stop, or being sexually abused in unthinkable ways.

Yet, despite the odds, Mary has rescued these babies and given them medical care, love, and a sanctuary. Mary and her husband, Joseph, and David Saunders have formed a personal bond, based on trust, faith and a common purpose.

Our Relationship

Maintaining Springs of Hope has not been easy. Despite Mary’s magnificent and selfless work, Springs of Hope has struggled financially; often it is on the verge of closing down.

Upon witnessing Mary’s work and carefully considering our own budget, RROP has committed $20,000.00 a year to support Springs of Hope, as a partner project. This money will be used to provide a reliable base for paying some expenses, such as: rent, utility bills, and some salaries. By stepping in at this critical moment, we can ensure Springs of Hope keeps its doors wide open to the most desperate babies in Kenya.

The full nature of our partnership with Springs of Hope will be realized when the children come to live with us at the Red Rhino Orphanage. While there, RROP will educate them up to and through university, for all who are capable. And when they leave us they will be ready and able to lead the next generation of Kenyans.
